Academic enrichment for your growing child!
Building core concepts skills at a young age is essential. With studies showing that about one third of children’s intellectual skills will be developed by age six, it is important to increase your young child’s exposure to a variety of experiences. Learning through play, students in the Bright Kids Preschool Alternative Program will develop their understanding of core concepts. While this program is a great head start for children looking to eventually take the Selective Enrollment exams, it’s also a great academic enrichment program.
What makes our program unique?
Children enrolled in the preschool alternative program will learn to form relationships with their peers and teacher within a fun and creative atmosphere. Games and manipulatives selected for this program are chosen for their educational value. Children will be encouraged to ask questions and to explore how to solve various problems and logical games. With a maximum class size of four students, our contracted tutors can provide individualized and ready feedback to guide your child during this period of self-discovery.
During these sessions children will be exposed to a mix of academic, creative, and movement based activities. Some activities they may work on include singing songs to develop phonics, creating pieces of art that stress color and shape recognition, and learning dance moves that stress body part recognition. Development of fine motor skills will be targeted through tracing and drawing activities. Finally, children will begin to develop literacy and math awareness through exposure to printables and various hands-on resources.
All of our contracted tutors in this program are certified and either former or current early childhood teachers. Daily session reports are provided online to update parents on the activities and progress of their child.
